Saturday you went to your first Christmas parade! It was in downtown Raleigh. Highlights were the marching bands, the shark float, and meeting up with your grandma afterwards at Beasley's Chicken + Honey (she helped build and road on one of the parade floats).
YOU HAVE THREE TEETH (+ THE CHARITY EVENT YOU INSPIRED)
First things first: you have three teeth as of last night, Maeve! Hooray! We're so proud of you. Teething is hard!
Also, here are some photos (taken by my friend Mikkel of Mikkel Paige Photography) from a charity event your mama hosted last week, on World Prematurity Day, inspired by you, my love. All the proceeds go to the hospital where you were born.
I wrote a little more about the evening, and shared more photos, here. I love you baby girl!
NINE MONTHS OLD!
Sweet, precious Maeve, you are nine months old! Your dad and I love you beyond measure and we can't believe how fast the last nine months have flown by!
We love having a front row seat to watch your beautiful personality blossom and watch you discover something new everyday. It's the greatest adventure. Here are a couple of updates on you, darling girl...
-You have 2 teeth, both on the bottom, but you are teething pretty heavily now, so we're thinking we may see more soon.
-You are still trying to crawl. You rock back and forth on your knees, but end up rolling over onto your back. It's so cute.
-You are very into your hands now. You hold your arms outstretched in front of you and just look at your hands. You twist and turn them and just marvel at them.
-You are ticklish! As of last week! And it's the cutest!
-You notice children and love watching them when we're out and about.
-You still love swinging.
-You are a great eater.
We couldn't be more in love with you or more proud of you, Maevey, girl! Thank you for being the best baby a mama and daddy could ask for! xoxo
TOOTH NUMBER TWO
Maevey, my love, you got your second tooth yesterday, November 3. We are so proud! And you continue to be the best baby in the whole world. Daddy and I love you so much! xoxo
THE END OF OCTOBER
Between travel (NYC and ATL) and work (two of my biggest weddings of the year were last weekend), October flew by! The end of the month was marked by my birthday and lots of celebrating!
We had dinner with grandma and grandpa on my birthday eve (grandpa even got you a special dress for the occasion, with cats on it!), and then enjoyed a cozy night at home, just you, me and daddy, on my birthday. And the following Saturday, your dad outdid himself and made the best dinner! Aunt Jeannie was in town, so she even came, along with grams, grandpa, auntie Gina and uncle Taylor, Isla and Louis. Then on Monday grams watched you while daddy and I went to see one of our very very favorite bands, Buena Vista Social Club. It was wonderful, but I missed you terribly, of course! And Maeve, this was the best birthday of my life, because you were in it!
We ended the month with your very first Halloween. You were a mermaid, daddy was a merking and mommy was a shark! We met up with grams and grandpa at Isla and Louis' house Saturday afternoon (Halloween). We walked around the neighborhood trick-or-treating with the whole gang. You went to two houses and got a box of raisins and a candy bar. I ate the candy bar (sorry!) but don't have the heart to eat the box of raisons. I kind of want to keep it forever. I know. Weird and gross but I can't help but be sentimental! It is, after all, your first Halloween treat! Speaking of Halloween treats, grams and grandpa got you the coolest teething toy, which was such a timely gift since...YOU GOT YOUR SECOND TOOTH!
