It's taken me way too long to post photos from your second Easter, which was spent in Beaufort with the Dansby side of our family. Maxine passed away Easter Sunday, and honestly I've just been too sad to write about that weekend until now. But I don't want to forget your second Easter, so here goes...
Auntie Gina and uncle Taylor were spending the week in their friends' home, Thomas Thomas House. Your dad was off work Friday, so we dropped Louis and Lilly off at grandma and grandpa's house and headed to the coast. Unlike our previous trip, the weather wasn't great (it was blustery, cold and rained lots) but you got to bond with family which was wonderful!
When we arrived we headed straight to Fort Macon where your cousins were playing on the beach. It was freezing so you mostly sat in grams and grandpa's warm car. Isla kept us company part of the time.
Uncle Taylor cooked us dinner that night and you had your first cousins bath! It was adorable!
Saturday was hard, because I had to leave you and daddy early in the morning to drive back to town to see Maxine one last time. Her health deteriorated quickly Friday night so I got up early Saturday and drove to see her at the hospital. Meanwhile, you spent the day with your dad, your cousins, you auntie and uncle and grams and grandpa. You spent time at the beach and played back at the house.
I missed you so bad, baby girl! I thought mostly of you and your dad on the drive, and I made it back Saturday night just in time for bed.
Sunday morning was Easter and you and your cousins woke up bright and early to open presents. There was a bit of a mixup and a book from the Easter bunny didn't make it into your Easter basket (it fell in the back of the car) and the Easter bunny accidentally added a big stuffed animal to your basket that was actually a gift from Maxine. And the price tag on your Easter basket. Ha. But you were so happy! And you loved your toy dog from the Easter bunny. You also loved the gifts from grams and grandpa, Isla and Louis and auntie and uncle.
Daddy and I took you on a short stroll around Beaufort, but it was cold and started raining so we headed back not long after setting out. Later that afternoon we all went to the aquarium before packing up to head back home. I'm so glad you got to spend so much time with your family over the weekend! You had a ball!
ps: Below is a photo from last Easter, Easter 2015. It was your first!
